Publication and Ethical Principles
Publication Rules
The publication processes of the Journal of Transportation Management Research (JOTMAR) aim to ensure the unbiased production, development, and sharing of knowledge through scientific methods. At every stage of the publication process of scientific research, all participants (publisher, editor, reviewer, author) must act in accordance with ethical principles. The publication ethics of our journal are implemented in accordance with the principles set forth in the "Regulations on Scientific Research and Publication Ethics in Higher Education Institutions."
JOTMAR is a peer-reviewed journal published biannually (in February and September) by Ege University. The journal publishes articles in both Turkish and English. The journal accepts original research articles and review studies in all areas related to transportation, including transportation economics, transportation policies, management of transportation businesses, supply chain management, and all other fields related to transportation and logistics.
Research submitted to JOTMAR must not have been previously published in any other journal, nor should it have been submitted to another journal for publication or rejected for publication. All authors are required to submit a Copyright Transfer Form for the articles they send to our journal. By doing so, the authors acknowledge that the articles are original research conducted by them and that no plagiarism from other works has been made. Moreover, the authors confirm that they have individually contributed to the research, accept full responsibility, and affirm that the article has not been published elsewhere, has not been submitted for publication elsewhere, and has not been accepted for publication elsewhere.
No copyright fees are paid for publications submitted to JOTMAR.
The scientific and legal responsibility for the articles published in JOTMAR rests with the authors.
The views and opinions expressed in the articles published in JOTMAR reflect those of the authors and do not necessarily represent the views of the journal or its affiliated institutions.
All submissions to JOTMAR must comply with the journal's writing guidelines. Additionally, research is subjected to a preliminary similarity check. In accordance with the Publication Ethics Principles, articles with a similarity rate above 15% (excluding references) in plagiarism detection software will be returned to the authors. Research that passes the preliminary review for similarity and writing/format requirements will be sent to at least two reviewers for content review. The journal follows a double-blind peer review process, and no information about the authors or reviewers is shared. Articles with negative reports from reviewers will not be published. Articles that are recommended for revision by reviewers will be returned to the authors for necessary corrections.
Ethical Rules
Research submitted to JOTMAR that involves data collection from humans through surveys, interviews, focus group studies, experiments, or any other scientific means must obtain an "Ethics Committee Approval Certificate" before submission. For research that does not require ethics committee approval, the authors must submit a declaration form stating that no ethics committee approval is required, which can be found under the "forms" section.
